When my cat Thomas went missing I was an emotional mess.
It was difficult to follow my intuition. I felt he was alive, yet my brain feared the worse.
Here’s what losing Thomas taught me.
After a week of Thomas missing, I saw him in my minds eye, he was stuck underground.
I saw a male’s arm remove a lid freeing Thomas. I felt a sense of peace.
Little did I know, I was actually seeing three weeks into the future. When he didn’t appear after this “vision” I began to question my intuition. But with many people supporting me, I didn’t give up hope. I dreamt of my Dad and Uncle, both reassurring me from heaven. The next day I received a phone call from a man who had seen my missing cat “Ad” in the paper.
He believed he had sighted Thomas.
After speaking to him on the phone, I forgot to get his name, so I called him the “Man who sighted Thomas” on my phone.
We agreed to meet in the evening so he could show me where.
Later that day while driving around the neighbourhood I met two other people who offered to keep an eye out for Thomas.
It turned out all three had the same name as my Dad.
I had three Johns helping me!
When I wasn’t working I was out looking for Thomas.
The weeks passed.
The “Man who sighted Thomas” John, had a strong connection with his cat who saved him and his family from a house fire. He was incredibly compassionate.
Our routine was to wait outside his house opposite the vineyards until “Thomas” appeared. We didn’t have much luck.
One evening I awoke with a different imagine in my minds eye. I saw a cat which looked like Thomas, but he was slightly smaller. It was a “Thomas look alike.”
Sure enough, I did end up sighting a black and white fluffy cat appearing from the grapevines.
With my emotions running wild I screeched out to him.
He ran the other way.
Feeling like I may have scared my very own cat, I waited for him to reappear.
It took another day for this to happen.
This time I got a closer look and it wasn’t Thomas.
I almost gave up.
Then I had another dream.
This time I saw Thomas, and my two whippet’s, Bilbie and Herb all together.
Finally after almost four weeks of searching my daughter Isabella came to stay. She had a dream. where she heard Thomas speak to her. He told her where he was. She woke from the dream distressed as she couldn’t remember what he said.
I know she didn’t need to remember.
Her body knew.
That night she intiated a late evening walk.
After sometime looking I said, “It’s time to go home.” And that’s when we heard a very weak cry.
We were standing DIRECTLY in front of Thomas.
He was stuck a meter deep in a drain.
We called Morgan who managed to get the lid off with a crow bar.
Thomas was rescued.
Thomas was so close to death that the vet wasn’t sure he would make it.
We gave him around the clock care.
It took a year for him to regain weight and to be his confident self.
